Martin Keating
Artist
Martin Keating was born in London in 1964 and grew up between Australia and Ireland.
He studied fine art at the Crawford Art College, Cork and the National College of Art and Design, Dublin, Ireland.
Since leaving college in 1987 Martin Keating has travelled extensively, living and working throughout the world. As well as practising as an artist he has worked in publishing, advertising and television.
Painting is my way to reconcile the nature of our human condition with the essence of our fragile existence.
For me the process of painting is fragile like us. The initial brush stroke is a crude blunder. A mistake that each subsequent stroke is an attempt to fix. It’s always slightly out of control. Impossible to get a good grip.
